Want to be in a commUNITY who believes in helping each other?
We Are The Others (WATO) serves two functions: we are a community of solidarity for vulnerable populations, and we connect those in need with the resources and services that can help them (confidentially, and at no cost).
WATO is committed to helping people feel safe, seen, secure, and supported. From helping Grandma to get a new pair of glasses, to needing aid after a disaster, to finding resources about your rights, to assistance paying your bills… our commUNITY is here.
There is NO FEE to join us. We just ask that you contribute as you can. That could look like sharing with others in need about us. Inviting people to join the community and movement. Letting us know about resources, organizations, or groups that we could partner with or who could use our services. Volunteer a few hours a month. Or make a donation. All ways of participation in the community are appreciated.
Come join our Community and Movement.

Do you know how to recongize and support someone who maybe in mental distress? We are stronger personally, professionally, and as a community when we are able to be aware and support each other during times of mental distress. Come join this highly valuable session hosted by Mirit Sloves, a LMFT, PhD, and Owner of Meridian Health.
Empathy is a beautiful concept—but without action, it’s just a feeling. In this powerful session, Adrienne Barker, MAS, brings her “Because I Care” initiative and Climates of Respect anti-bullying program together to show how small, intentional actions can transform lives in the spaces we live, learn, and work.
Drawing on her experiences as a Guardian ad Litem, business strategist, and global etiquette educator, Adrienne unpacks how:
- Words and behavior shape safety—online and off
- Emotional neglect and bullying hide in plain sight
- Adults and youth alike are desperate to feel seen, safe, and supported
She offers practical tools for educators, parents, leaders, and community builders to create cultures of emotional dignity—whether you're managing a team, raising a child, or advocating for someone with no voice.
This talk is equal parts inspiration and intervention—because caring is more than kind... it’s courageous.
